Deal between Brats and the HD Clinical

The London NHS Trust has recently signed a three year deal with the HD Clinical to replace its cardiothoracic and cardiology surgery systems, and in its place use a web based electronic patient record keeping base that will link to the Cerner Millennium.

The Solus system as it is known will enable the NHS Trust to keep a centralized record of all its cardiothoracic & vascular and cardiac data management systems. Efforts will also be made to link to the cardiac audit database and also to provide some alerting capability that will ensure that the requirements of the national data are being met.

This has been confirmed by a spokesperson for the NHS Trust who has informed that the system will soon replace the old data bases that are now being used to support the national and local information reporting requirements. This move will also help in effective savings in the collection of data and also make sure of improved reporting on the clinical activity that is being performed on the data.

The three year deal will also provide the electronic discharge summaries, prepare reports and integrate management of documents which in turn will allow the information from the medical devices and gadgets to be made available on the web browsers throughout the three websites of the Trust immediately.

The present version of Cerner Millennium which is being used by the Trust does not support the detailed requirements of the Cardiology Department, though urgent steps in this regard has been taken so that it is implemented in the near future.

It has been hoped that the large and fine teaching medical college hospital like the Barts and The London, which has many specialized services, will have the required systems which cannot be met through a single core product.

Now if such a development also takes place in the field of cosmetic surgery and concerns like laser hair removal cost and plastic surgery, things could get easier for a lot of people.
